| Dr. Ruary O'Connell is the Medical Director of the Renew Program. He was educated in Ireland, and trained at Harvard and Tulane University. His background is in general and bariatric surgery, nutrition and metabolism. He has performed more than 3,000 Bariatric Surgeries in his career and specializes in both open and laparoscopic gastric bypass. Dr. Kathy Macgregor received her undergraduate degree at St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans. She attended Texas Women's University in Danton, Texas where she earned a Master's Degree and a Doctorate in Psychology, winning an award for her dissertation research from the Texas Psychological Association. She has extensive experience over the last eight years evaluating and treating weight loss patients. Paula Rangel, LDN, RD is a registered dietitian. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Louisiana State University and completed an internship at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. She is licensed by the Commission of Dietetic Registration and Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition. She provides nutritional education and counseling to Renew patients before and after surgery. She has been working with weight-loss patients for the last three years. Leslie Mathews is the Renew Representative. She is the first to interact with the patients and is the "voice" of the program. She works diligently with insurance applications, benefits, and billing. She has been working with weight loss patients for the last eight years and ensures smooth office operations. |
